News from Eerdmans . . .
- It’s been a quiet week at the Wm. B. Eerdmans Publishing Co. . . .
. . . and Elsewhere
- A Theology of Grace in Six Controversies was reviewed by the Homiletic and Pastoral Review. Steven J. Meyer writes that the book “makes the theology of grace pastorally relevant. . . . The book displays what a scholarly, pastoral, kerygmatic, and ecumenical approach to doing theology looks like.”
- Monday’s Shelf-Awareness featured the trailer for The Great Wall of China and the Salton Sea as the trailer of the day. In case you haven’t seen it yet:
- Ami Campbell (co-author of Love Let Go) wrote “Why this church gave all its money away” for Philanthropy Daily.
- Francis J. Bremer reviewed The First American Evangelical: A Short Life of Cotton Mather for the Journal of Ecclesiastical History.
- The Mather biography was also mentioned, along with Damning Words by D. G. Hart, in a post about religious biographies on The Anxious Bench.
- Bob Cornwall reviewed Reading the Bible Missionally, calling it “a valuable resource that reminds us that the Bible is more than simply an anthology of ancient religious texts.”
